Due to its easy handling and the fact of lowering the mortality quote fhe fecal occult blood (FOB) test is the most common screening test for the colorectal carcinoma at the present. Disadvantages of existing tests are insufficient sensitivity – especially when indicating early stages of the carcinoma – and a low public acceptance.
The new smart point of care immunologic FOB is more specific and more sensitive.
It is based on the detection of human haemoglobin by using specific antiobodies and is therefore indipendent of dietary or medicinal factors resulting in a higher public acceptance. The detection of tumour-DNA in stool by use of the smart FOB test dawns a new area of detecting colorectal carcinoma at an early stage. The full quantitative test enables to detect and display precise concentrations.
Smart FOB test advantages at a glance:
- immunologic test
- independent of dietary or medicinal factors
- full quantitative results
- early detection of colorectal carcinomas
